Vegetable abrasive granules for vibratory finishing and tumbling of metal surfaces
Corn cob granules and walnut shells for natural and soft vibrofinishing of processed materials
Vibrofinishing and tumbling with abrasive granules is one of many terms used to define the process for mechanically removing substrate residues from machining operations such as stamping or casting of machined parts (particularly suitable for giving a surface finish to large numbers of parts). The process is carried out by a tank or drum machine that, thanks to the abrasive grains, possibly in combination with chemicals, gives the best in terms of polishing and deburring the treated parts.
Follador Srl is engaged in the production and sale of granules obtained from both corn cob and walnut shell for vibrofinishing and tumbling with a wide range of grain sizes suitable for all types of processing. Cob granules are the plant’s answer to inert mineral, metallic and glassy granules.
Unlike such inert granules, the cob is completely natural, biodegradable and does not form dust that is hazardous to health. Corn cob is specifically for soft vibrofinishing that does not streak or affect treated surfaces. In addition to corn cob granules, we also provide another product, walnut shell granules. Walnut-shell granules, available in the same grain sizes as cob, are suitable for surfaces that require more abrasive power.
